Conditions We Treat

Your symptoms are real. Let's find the why.

Fatigue, weight that won't budge, irregular cycles, brain fog — these are often signs of metabolic or hormonal conditions that deserve a careful look, not a shrug.

Metabolic health shows up in many different ways

These conditions are closely connected, and they often overlap. Understanding which ones apply to you is the first step toward a plan that works.

Insulin Resistance & Prediabetes

Insulin resistance means your body has to produce more and more insulin to keep blood sugar in range. It develops quietly over years and is one of the most common, and most missed, drivers of weight gain, fatigue, and rising lab numbers. Caught early, it is very treatable, and progression to type 2 diabetes can often be prevented.

Common signs include:

  • Weight gain around the middle that resists diet and exercise
  • Energy crashes after meals, strong cravings for carbs or sugar
  • Rising fasting glucose, A1c, or triglycerides
  • Darkened skin patches (neck, armpits) or skin tags
  • A family history of type 2 diabetes

Why It Matters

Symptom relief is only the first step.

These conditions rarely travel alone. Insulin resistance raises the risk of type 2 diabetes; PCOS and menopause both interact with metabolic health; thyroid disease can mask or mimic all of them. Managing one number is not the same as understanding the whole system.

At Bloom, evaluation looks at the full picture — labs, history, sleep, medications, and life circumstances — so treatment addresses causes, not just symptoms.

Left unaddressed, metabolic conditions can progress.

Over time, untreated insulin resistance and diabetes raise the risk of heart disease, kidney disease, nerve damage, and vision loss. Early, thoughtful care is the best protection — and small, sustained changes made now compound for decades.
